Emily Barnett
Emily is a qualified Matwork Level 1 STOTT Pilates Instructor and also holds a Level 3 Certificate in Teaching Mat Pilates with the YMCA. She is registered with REP’s, The Register of Exercise Professionals and regularly attends CPD workshops to broaden her repertoire in order to adapt her sessions to help clients with their individual needs.
Emily believes that the positive effects of Pilates are numerous and are invaluable when it comes to improving the function of both the mind and body. As a STOTT instructor, she has the knowledge and ability to identify the imbalances in the student’s body and to instruct them with modified exercises to improve this and restore balance.
Acknowledging that we are all very different, Emily’s sessions focus on practicing safely and to the client’s own personal limits. She is keen to help people at an individual level and help clients to reach their goals. She is passionate about how Pilates can improve not only the function of the body through better posture, alignment and strengthening muscles but also the mind from the concentration and focus required in class. She adapts her classes to the needs of clients and loves to see the improvement in them, as they learn more about Pilates and their bodies.
