Children's Creative Arts and Play Therapy
It's totally normal for all of us to feel overwhelmed, anxious or angry from time to time. As adults we usually have the coping skills and words to support and express ourselves in those moments. For our children, this can sometimes be a little more tricky, leading to children who withdraw or present with challenging behaviours that can be hard to know how to support. At Dagaz Therapy, using a mixture of Creative Arts and Play Therapy, children and young people aged 3-16 are offered a safe space to work through their feelings and try out new coping strategies that could improve their emotional well-being and their relationships.
Creative Art and Play Therapy are predominantly child-led approaches, giving a child the time and space they require to learn about themselves and their own needs and how to get them met safely and appropriately. Without judgement, the sessions provide an opportunity for free thinking and self expression through art, music, dance and movement, puppets, sand, storytelling and creative visualisations. Sessions are tailored to the individual.

Parent Coaching
While therapeutic support for children and young people can be really beneficial, as a therapist and coach, I am also dedicated to supporting Parents and Carers develop skills, strengths and strategies for the home in parallel. This means that when a young person leaves their session, the people they spend the most time with feel confident, informed and empowered to make positive changes at home too. As a coach, I work with Parents and Carers to identify where they feel they need support, and then collaborate with them to develop bespoke strategies, that work for their family. The areas I support include Positive communication, Self-regulation, Boundaries, Positive play, Transitions and Routine building.
If you feel like you could use a space to process your parenting journey and find some new strategies to support your family, then please do get in touch either via my website www.DagazTherapy.co.uk or via email at kemp.mic@googlemail.com
